General talk:Links
Solution to link page mergingEdit
I believe I know the best way to handle link pages. The General page should contain general ES links as well as a few select chapter-specific links. The game-specific link pages will also continue to exist, but these will be like repositories: they will have a great deal of links, probably most of which will be low quality and added because of an attempt by the site's owner to promote it. This would keep (or recreate) the chapter-specific pages while giving the General page an amount of fan-created content for each. Aaa 19:28, 22 July 2006 (EDT)
Duplicate LinksEdit
In my opinion, each site should only have one link on this page, in whichever section is most appropriate. At the moment, many sites are listed two or even three times (e.g., elderscrolls.filefront.com). Does anyone else agree? Or are there reasons why a site should have multiple links here? --Nephele 13:50, 29 October 2006 (EST)
Cleanup Attempt 11/23/6Edit
I attempted a cleanup and removed the cleanup tag, but if anyone thinks it still needs cleanup, feel free to replace the cleanup tag. GuildKnight 23:59, 23 November 2006 (EST)
Hi, not sure where to post this, and my most humble apologies as I have a feeling this isn't exactly the right place :/ In the links section it describes Planet Elder Scrolls as a fansite with mods and screenshots, but Planet Elder Scrolls also has forums, which in my opinion ought to be mentionned. Regards, Makhno

Removal of LinksEdit
I have taken down the following links, since all of them have been inactive since at least 2/13/07. I left Elder Tomes on the list since we can easily talk to Magnus, but these other sites are gone without a trace. If anyone feels the need to find them on the magical Web Archive, they can go ahead.
- Oblivion Files
- The Elder Scrolls Roleplaying Forums – Forums for Elder Scrolls Roleplaying
- A-Vaults Redguard Preview – A great, detailed preview for the game with lots of screenshots and an excellent movie trailer. A must see!
- The Complete Daggerfall File Library – Just about every possible Daggerfall file you could ever want can be found here in a well organized environment. Hasn't been updated in a while.
- Daedrafall Mod – Home page of the Daedrfall mod which allows you to play the game as a Daedra, among other things.
- CJY Daggerfall Page – Bunch of good general hints, cheats, links, files and character creation.
- Daggerfall Tools – All kinds of great DF utilities.
- DF Bestiary – Various information and pictures of the monster in the game.
- DF Save Game Hex List – Contains a good list of hex codes for the save game to give yourself items, armor, weapons, etc...
I also checked the non-international links for more broken ones, but didn't find any. --Ratwar 21:54, 23 March 2007 (EDT)
- I removed the mirror link on my Daggerfall site. I'm letting that domain name go, but tesguides.com is still up and running.Marstinson (talk) 03:16, 12 February 2013 (GMT)
Question about removal.Edit
I would like to know, seeing as I'm going to be merging and revising the link page, would it be ok to remove any broken links instead of crossing them out? I will see if I can resolve the links to the best I can, but I don't think we need them. The best I would like to do is move them off to the side to "Misc broken links" or something. --Brandol 10:58, 1 January 2008 (EST)
- I think it would be useful to get a general consensus on what should be done with broken links on the site. What I'd propose is that at first any broken links should just be crossed out, preferably with a date indicating when the link was discovered to be broken. If after a long enough period of time (six months?) the link is still broken, then delete the link.
- I think broken links shouldn't be deleted immediately, because there can be any number of temporary reasons why a link won't work. (I wouldn't like to see links to UESP deleted from other sites every time our site becomes difficult to access!) If there's a chance that the problem is just a temporary problem, then it seems premature to move the link to another section of the page. But once we're pretty certain that a link will never again be useful, there's no reason to clutter the site with useless information. So that's why after six months I'd say a broken link can safely be deleted.
- Any other suggestions for what to do with broken links? --NepheleTalk 19:25, 1 January 2008 (EST)
- That's a good idea. The policy would need to be described at the top of the page to, for instance, encourage people to remove the crossing out if they found a link working. I'm just wondering if it would be worth recording broken links in a sub-page in case they ever come back or an alternative is discovered, but I doubt there's enough reason to do that. —Rpeh•T•C•E• 08:41, 2 January 2008 (EST)
- I'll built a list of easy to follow rules. What I'll do is find every link that is broke, then look for a alternative. Hell, I found TheLys, which has people thought went defunct. :3 I would put it up on the Mod page, but that'd take too much work. XD --Brandol 04:41, 3 January 2008 (EST)

Other Bethesda Site linksEdit
Do you think it would be possible to add other Bethesda/ZeniMax works here? As in a Bethesda Misc. or some such? 68.186.70.46 20:08, 27 December 2012 (GMT)
- That wouldn't be relevant. This site is (and these links are) only about The Elder Scrolls. LoftedAphid86⚕ 20:11, 27 December 2012 (GMT)
- AH. OK then, thank you anyways ^^ 68.186.70.46 20:32, 27 December 2012 (GMT)
Possible links to be includedEdit
Some suggestions for links to be included on the page. Not sure who is the authority here to give a blessing for those links.

Link suggestionEdit
While we're at it I'll add another link suggestion:
Morrowind Character Planer: https://morrowind.jpbetley.com/ (MIT licensed)
Regarding both, http://tes3mp.com/ and https://github.com/afritz1/OpenTESArena seem to be in an early stage of development. We could still link there (e.g. this may attract developers/testers for those projects) but it should be clarified to not confront people with not fully functional programs unwarned. Also someone should have tested them (or a programmer have a look) to avoid malicious code (though unlikely for open source projects for they would be easy to pinpoint).
