Geimund

Geimund is a Nord knight added by the Knights of the Nine official download.

He will appear at the Priory of the Nine with his brother, Gukimir, after the first Knight of the Nine has joined the Priory. He requests to become a Knight of the Nine and will become known as Sir Geimund if you accept him into the Order.

While waiting for your decision, he will be found sparring with his brother in the Priory basement from 9am to midday and from 9pm to midnight, at which point he will head to bed and sleep until 6am. At all other times he will be found wandering around the Priory House. If his brother dies at any point, he skips the sparring and instead wanders around disconsolately.

Once he's been knighted, he will instead sleep until his 9am sparring session. At midday he heads to be Chapel for three hours of prayer, followed by another three hours of melee practice in the basement. At 6pm he eats his dinner and at 9pm he heads back downstairs for his second sparring session. He goes to bed at midnight.

Before being knighted Geimund may wear an iron cuirass, a pair of leather boots, and sack cloth pants. He carries a collared shirt and a pair of rough leather shoes. In combat he will use an iron claymore. After being knighted he will wear chainmail boots, gauntlets, greaves, and helmet. He also wears a Knight of the Nine Cuirass and carries a Knights of the Nine Shield.

Priory of the NineEdit

After you have returned one of the relics and had one knight join the order, Geimund and his brother will appear in the Priory House. When you first speak to him, he will greet you by asking if he and his brother could join your order:

"Hail, Sir Knight! My brother and I have heard that you are founding a holy order of knights, and we would like to offer you our swords. We've come all the way from Skyrim to join up. We can't claim any experience as knights, but we learned soldiering from our years in the Legion. Will you have us?"
I accept. Welcome to the Order.
"You won't regret it, sir. You'll find us true-hearted and brave. I'll be back as soon as I've outfitted myself."
You are not yet worthy.
"You're the commander. We know how to take orders. But I know that one day we'll earn your trust."

Speaking to him again after you reject him will lead to him asking if you had changed your mind offering you the same choices as the last time you spoke:

"My brother and I still hope to serve the gods as Knights of the Nine. Have you changed your mind? Will you induct us into the Order?"

Once you've completed the quest, you may hear Nords or Orcs outside of Skingrad refer to the brothers:

"My cousin in Skingrad said that a pair of brothers stopped there looking for the Priory of the Nine. They wanted to be Knights! Can you believe it?"

The Blessing of TalosEdit

Once you've returned to the Priory with the Sword of the Crusader, if he's been admitted into the Order, Geimund will be found in the Chapel alongside his fellow knights. After listening to the Prophet's sermon, he will set off on horseback to Garlas Malatar.

Umaril the UnfeatheredEdit

When you arrive at Garlas Malatar, Geimund will be stood outside ready to fight. Once you give the order or simply enter into the ruins, he will charge inside and attack any Auroran he can find. He will continue to battle until you destroy the Dark Orb in the second zone, after which you'll be separated.

Once you return to the Priory having defeated Umaril, he will listen to Sir Thedret's speech before cheering your success by clapping and exclaiming:

"Hail! Hail! Hail!"
"Through Arkay, the Crusader lives!"

AftermathEdit

With the Order restored, Geimund can be asked to follow you:

Come with me
"I'm yours to command, Sir Knight."
Follow me.
"I'm yours to command, Sir Knight."
Wait here.
"I'll wait for you to return."
Return to your duties.
"Certainly, Sir Knight."

Should Geimund fall in the battle at Garlas Malatar, he will be replaced by a generic female Imperial Knight of the Nine. His brother can be heard mourning his loss:

"Oh, you know. My brother... Sir Geimund. I miss him, that's all. We've always done everything together. It's hard to get used the fact that he's dead"

The other knights can also be heard discussing him:

"It's Sir Geimund, that's all. Sometimes I still can't believe he's gone. I don't understand how he, of all of us, should have been the one to fall..."
"I'm sorry. I know I shouldn't brood about it, but... Sir Geimund... I still can't believe he's gone."

NotesEdit

  • It is possible for Geimund to be stuck permanently following you if you trigger the KotN follower bug; see bugs for details.
  • Geimund rides a Bay Horse that can be found in the Priory's stables after the brothers have arrived. You are free to use this horse, since the horse is not labeled as being owned by Geimund.
  • Geimund joins the Knights of the Nine faction after arriving at the Priory.
  • There is a Nord man in Skyrim with the name Geimund.
