Tovas Selvani is a Dark Elf ostler who sells black horses at the Black Waterside Stables outside Cheydinhal.
Tovas Selvani starts his day at 6am, wandering around his home until it's time to open up shop. At 8am, he'll unlock the doors to allow potential customers inside. Tovas will continue wandering around his home, waiting for customers to arrive, until noon arrives. At midday he'll break for lunch for two hours. Tovas will continue to wait for customers to visit his business until 6pm, at which time he'll take another two hours for dinner. After he finishes eating his second meal of the day, Tovas will lock up for the night. He'll continue to explore his own home until 10pm, at which point he'll retire to his bed for the day. Tovas will then sleep until 6am to repeat his daily schedule. He will sell horses at all times of the day but note that the door to the stables is locked from 8pm to 8am.
Tovas carries an iron shortsword as well as a few pieces of gold. He wears a common lower-class outfit consisting of a patched vest, coarse linens, and a pair of clogs.
DialogueEdit
Tovas will greet you by saying:
- "I own the Black Waterside Stables. Are you shopping for a horse?"
- Cheydinhal
- "I could tell you [sic] our blacks are the fastest, toughest, most reliable horses in Cyrodiil."
- Buy a horse
- "The Black horses of Cheydinhal are the finest in all of Cyrodiil! None are faster and only the White horses of Anvil are stronger."
- Sorry. I've changed my mind.
- "It's your loss. There is no finer horse in Cyrodiil than the Black horses of Cheydinhal."
- I can't afford 5000 gold for a horse.
- "I understand. The Cheydinhal Black horse is only for the most discriminating of customers."
- 5000 gold is a lot, but I'll do it.
- "You won't regret it. Go out to the corral. Mivryna will have your new Black horse saddled and ready for you."
Speaking to Tovas after buying his horse will have him tell you that he currently cannot provide you with a new mount:
- "I own the Black Waterside Stables. I don't have any horses for sale right now. You bought our last Black horse."
RumorsEdit
Mivryna will mention that you need to talk to Tovas if you approach her:
- "If you want to buy a horse, go inside and talk to Tovas."
When asked about Cheydinhal, she will reveal that she enjoys being around Tovas and the horses:
- "Tovas knows his horses, and I'll stay with him and these beautiful creatures. Forever."
Tertia Viducia will point you toward Black Waterside Stables when you ask her about Cheydinhal:
- "Did you know we have the finest horses in Cyrodiil, right here in town? Black Waterside Stables... the best thoroughbred blacks."
Unused DialogueEdit
- Tovas has an additional greeting line that you will never hear: "Welcome to Black Waterside Stables. Finest horses in all Cyrodiil. And I'm speaking literally. I'm Tovas Selvan [sic], the owner."
