Related QuestsEdit

DialogueEdit

When you speak to her, she will say:

"Cropsford may seem peaceful, but trouble is everywhere."

Your reply depends on which daily quest is currently available.

Bloody Hand Spies!Edit

She may talk about the local goblin band:

What trouble?
"Goblins of the Bloody Hand tribe have been seen on the outskirts of town. They're spying on the village, looking for weaknesses. If you see one of them, kill it. Then let me know."
I'll look around.

Talking to her again before completing the objective:

"Goblins. Don't you just hate them? I sure do. We work and they steal. There seem to be more of them every year too. When you get the chance, cut one in half for me."

Once a Bloody Hand Skirmisher has been found and killed, you can return to Ufgra.

"The Bloody Hand is just a small tribe, fortunately. I fear that Goblins will someday band together and wipe out Cropsford. I hope that day is far in the future."
The Bloody Hand has one less skirimisher [sic].
"Excellent. I doubt we'll ever eliminate that tribe, but with luck we can keep them from an all-out attack.
Take this with our gratitude."

Harvest TimeEdit

You seem upset.
"My assistant, Shagol, disappeared again! More than likely, he's off spying on the town's women. If you gather six sacks of Cropsford's produce meant for sale, I'll pay you Shagol's wages. Do we have a deal?"
Sounds simple enough.

Once you agree to help, you can ask her why she needs your help for collecting produce of all things. She will admit she has a secondary motive.

"When I get my hands on that useless Shagol, I'll rip his skin off!"
Why do you really need me to gather produce?
"You caught me. Sure, there's lots of folks around here who'd do it, but I like to ask newcomers to town to help out."
Why?
"We're always looking for new folks to settle here. More people to share the workload means a better life for everyone.
Then we've got undead in Culotte, and we see more Goblins every year. Settlers who can handle a sword are always welcome."
Had any success?
"Sure have! Both Hisham and Octavimus were just passing through. I asked them to help gather produce, they saw the town, liked it, and decided to stay. It's a win for everyone."

When you have gathered the produce you can return to Ufgra. She will mention why it was important that the grain be collected.

"This time of year, I'm always worried about the harvest. It's a race to get the food to market before it rots."
Here's the produce I collected.
"Thank you. We'll sell this food at markets in Alessia and Drakelowe. Here's the pay Shagol would have received, if he wasn't so lazy.
How did you like the village? Nice, huh? Think of us when it comes time to settle down."

Securing KnowledgeEdit

It does seem quiet.
"Appearances are deceiving. Goblins attack here regularly. They've never overrun the village, but I wish our books were out of harm's way. Would you mind hiding some of our tomes so they're not destroyed if the Goblins break through?"
Where do I hide the books?
"There's a chest hidden by the waterfall just northeast of town. Would you take some of these books and place them in the chest?"

If you speak with her again she will ask you to take care with the books.

"Please try not to get any blood on the books, either yours or Goblins'."

Once you have hidden the books and fought off an ambush, you can return to Ufgra.

"Few things bother me more than the thought of Goblins using our books for kindling or worse."
I hid the books.
"Thank you. It seems silly to worry about books at such times, but I would hate to see Goblins destroy our heritage. If those books were lost and Goblins overran us, no one would know we were ever here!"

The Dead of CulotteEdit

You look uneasy.
"With good reason! The undead walk the ruins of Culotte just to the southwest of here. If you'd eliminate some of them for us, I'd sleep a lot easier."
I'll do it.

If you speak with her again, you can ask her about the ruins.

"If I get turned into an undead monster, feel free to crush my skull. Seriously. I never want to be like that."
Has Culotte always been haunted?
"Those ruins draw evil to them. Sometimes it's undead, sometimes it's evil cultists, sometimes it's rabbits. Any place the Ayleids once lived, a vile aura seems to linger."
Ayleids?
"All Elves are evil, of course. But Ayleids were the worst of them all. They tortured, killed, and ate anyone not of their tribe. Fortunately, they're all dead nowadays. Probably cannibalized themselves to death."
Rabbits?
"Don't let them pull the fur over your eyes. Rabbits are pure evil. You crawl into a rabbit den, see dozens of beady red eyes all around you, well, you're never coming out again. Mark my words."

After you have culled the undead population of Cullote you can return to Ufgra.

"The thought of the dead walking around is unsettling at best. Soon they'll be shambling into Cropsford!"
I took care of some of them for you.
"That'll keep us safe for another day, I hope. Luckily, there's no shortage of adventurers willing to help us out. Here's the coin I promised.
Is that a bit of skull on your boot?"

Timberscar TroublesEdit

What sort of trouble?
"The Goblin sort. The Bloody Hand tribe has been around for a long time, but now a new tribe of Goblins has moved into Timberscar Hollow.
If you want to help, go kill their leader. That should slow them down."
I'll take care of it.

If you speak with her again after accepting the quest she will say:

"I fear these Timberscar Goblins will be a problem for a long time to come."

Once you have killed the tribes chieftain, you can return to Ufgra with the news.

"The only good Goblin is one that's been minced to pieces and then the pieces smashed with rocks."
I killed the Timberscar chieftain.
"Well, that's a start. Goblins are like ants—you think they're all dead, then more show up. Another Goblin will declare itself chieftain soon. I hope someone is here to help when it happens."
