Detailed WalkthroughEdit

Entering the manorEdit

Northwest of The Orchard you'll find a woman named Fatahala. Talk to her to start the quest. She will be upset, telling you she doesn't want to watch someone die again. Asking further she'll tell you that the manor catches people inside by mentally tricking them, but inevitably causing their deaths. After finishing the conversation, go inside the manor. Inside, instead of the inside of a house, you'll find a place bearing semblance to the Alik'r Desert, filled with celebrating people. You can use your mount "inside" the manor's outside areas. Find Stibbons by going west to the middle of the map in front of the manor and talk to him. Stibbons seems far from in danger. He's excited that the sisters Nuzara, Rayyaima, and Shayaifa are throwing a celebration in his honor and asks you to go meet them.

Stibbons' partyEdit

When walking to the banquet you walk across Fatahala, who's clearly not in such a merry mood as the other people around. If you wish, you can talk to her and she'll tell you that your eyes will place tricks on you in this place, and that you need to pay attention. She'll explain that she's caught up in the illusion because after the sisters found out she's a servant of Meridia, they decided to torment her by letting her watch the people become the sisters' meal instead of capturing her in their illusion hoping to eventually turn her to their side. Continue walking to the banquet and note that Rayyaima is a daedra looking like a Dark Seducer. Eat a piece of Meringue Tart from the table, then wait for Stibbons. Note that Rayyaima changed into a redguard now. Stibbons will suggest going to the pools. Go there with him. On your way, you walk into Fatahala again and if wished, you can talk to her again. She will tell you that you're different because you can see through the illusions, but otherwise just repeats previous dialogue.

Continue to the pools and talk to Shayaifa, who will come across as a nice redguard woman. She'll insist you enjoy the pools yourself after washing yourself in the basin. Talk to Fatahala who will now also be at the pools. She tells you to listen to her instead so she can help you see through their illusions. She gives you some cleansing reagents and tells you to place them in the basin. Do this and you'll find out that all the people at the pools where skeletons already. Talk to Fatahala again, who you will now see is a daedra herself (also looking like a Dark Seducer). She tells you this is her actual form repeating the sisters can't hurt her as long as she's a servant of Meridia, and Stibbons went to the manor with Shayaifa.

Saving StibbonsEdit

Enter the big manor in the middle and find Stibbons, who can be found in the storage room on the upper floor. Stibbons will be naked inside a cage, completely indignant about this. He tells you that Shayaifa went downstairs with the key. Go back downstairs. In the back of the big room on the ground floor, Shayaifa will stand ready to attack you. Kill her and take the key from the box, return to Stibbons and unlock the cage. Stibbons will quickly put on some clothes. Fatahala will run in and be glad Stibbons is alive, but Stibbons is upset because the sisters stole his Lady Laurent's jewels. Talk to Stibbons. He will ask you to recover the jewels and meet him at the secret tunnel afterward.

Go to the back room where you killed Shayaifa and enter the debauchery chamber. Kill or sneak around Rayyaima, and grab the first of the two jewels. Then enter the Festivity Chamber and do the same. Note that since the map is public, Shayaifa may respawn in the area in between requiring you to kill her again. Go to the secret tunnel near the pools and talk to Stibbons, and enter the secret tunnel. Go through the tunnel with Stibbons killing the skeleton and bone colossus on your way, and leave the manor. Talk to Stibbons one more outside to finish the quest.

NotesEdit

  • Jeremy Sera, Lead Content Designer for ESO, revealed on 10th May 2016 that this quest was originally intended to involve Darien Gautier, instead of Stibbons. It had to be redesigned following a late decision to make Darien disappear during The Final Assault.
  • The general quest description in the journal states that Fatahala is Soul-Shriven when that is not the case.
  • Despite Stibbons asking you to introduce yourself to Nuzara and Shuyaifa after he departs for the banquet, it isn't mandatory as part of an objective to do so and you can join him at the banquet right away instead.
  • Despite being presented as a hint required to complete the current objective, speaking with Fatahala after talking with Stibbons the first time isn't mandatory.
    • However, if she is not spoken to, the quest markers for the "Go to the pools" and "Speak to Shayaifa" objectives later on won't appear on the map.
  • Shayaifa and the coffer containing the cage key won't exist on the main floor of the manor before reaching the related objective.
  • Nuzara and Rayyaima, and the coffers containing the jewels, won't exist in the side rooms before reaching the related objective.
  • While Fatahala emphasizes using the secret tunnel to escape, the gates that were used to enter the manor grounds originally remain accessible to exit to Coldharbour, making it unclear why the tunnel is required.
  • Unlike Stibbons, Fatahala doesn't follow you throughout the manor cave. She is still found alongside Stibbons outside in Coldharbour anyway.
  • After completing this quest, you'll find Stibbons back at the Consultants' House in the Hollow City. Lady Laurent does not seem to acknowledge his presence, however.

BugsEdit

  • Shayaifa continues to exist at the pools, in Dark Seducer form, after the illusion breaks, despite Fatahala stating she has gone to the manor with Stibbons. ?
  • Entering the manor cave causes active companions to be dismissed. They can be re-summoned once inside however. ?

* Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g., <Alias=LocationHold>) is dynamically set by the game and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
