Quick WalkthroughEdit

  1. Speak with The Arenthian in the Sailor's Fluke in Anvil about jobs and simple scam.
    • Either:
      1. Find Lena Cinisa on the Saint Amiel Officer's Club's Top Floor.
      2. (Optional) Talk to Lena about Navy Officer Helmet and persuade her that she's needed at the bar (requires 70+ disposition).
      3. Steal Lena's helmet from the table near where she was standing.
    • Or obtain a Navy Officer Helmet from elsewhere.
  2. Bring the helmet to Anandaya in the Navarch's Tower of Fort Telodrach while having less than 100 gold total worth of items equipped.
  3. Return to the Arenthian.

Detailed WalkthroughEdit

Anvil's Little Arenthia quarter harbors a seedy tavern named the Sailor's Fluke. The top floors are locked off 'maintenance', but should you gain access (legitimately or otherwise), look for The Arenthian. He can induct you into the Cyrodiil Thieves Guild if you are not already a member, and has a simple scam to test your skills. He wants you to steal a Navy Officer Helmet and then dress as a pauper while returning it as a 'found item' to a woman named Anandaya at Fort Telodrach.

Any Navy Officer Helmet will do, but The Arenthian suggests that Lena Cinisa at the Saint Amiel Officers' Club would be an easy mark. That's in the Garden Quarter, with Lena being on the top floor and her helmet being next to her on the table. If you don't want to take your chances stealing it there and then, you can speak to Lena about the Navy Officer Helmet and (with 70+ disposition) convince her that the bartender is looking for her. She'll leave the helmet unattended.

Helmet in hand, go to Fort Telodrach and seek out Anandaya in the Navarch's Tower. Remember to dress the part - if you've more than 100 gold worth of items equipped on your person when handing over the helmet, she won't believe your story - and you'll have to return to The Arenthian empty handed. If she does though, you'll receive 75 gold. Return to The Arenthian once ready in order to complete the quest.

Index Finishes Quest Journal Entry
10 The Arenthian in the Anvil Thieves Guild wants me to con the Navy into paying for one of its own Navy Officer Helmets as a simple scam. He suggested that it might be easiest to steal Lena Cinisa's from the Saint Amiel Officers' Club, but any will do. Once I have one, I am to disguise myself as a pauper and bring it to Anandaya at Fort Telodrach for a reward.
20 I brought the Navy Officer Helmet to Anandaya while disguised as a pauper. As expected, she was overwhelmed by the show of 'selflessness' and paid me for the helm's retrieval.
25 I brought the Navy Officer Helmet to Anandaya. She seemed suspicious of me and did not offer a reward.
100 Finishes quest  The Arenthian was glad to hear of my success.
101 Finishes quest  The Arenthian was disappointed to hear that the scam fell short of expectations.
102 Finishes quest  As Anandaya is dead, the Arenthian's scam cannot be carried out.
