Redbelly Mine is a small ebony mine in western Shor's Stone initially containing frostbite spiders. It contains only one zone, Redbelly Mine.
The villagers describe the mine as the lifeblood of their settlement. It gets its name from the red mist said to flow throughout the mine; the mist's smell is described as similar to the sulfur vents in the volcanic tundra. The local blacksmith, Filnjar, will request your aid in clearing the mine of a group of frostbite spiders that recently invaded after the discovery of some unusual ore. The miners will return to work after the mine has been cleared. Grogmar gro-Burzag will buy iron ore from you, despite the fact that the mine contains only ebony ore.

WalkthroughEdit
ExteriorEdit
A smelter and three pieces of ebony ore are outside the mine entrance, which is west of Filnjar's house.
Redbelly MineEdit
The mine features one ebony ore vein on the ground on the descent just before the bottom level and two more ebony ore veins on the ground on the bottom level.
BugsEdit
- Despite printed literature and dialogue in game referring to this as an iron mine and the fact that Grogmar gro-Burzag will buy iron ore from you, the veins produce ebony ore. It is debated whether or not this is a bug or intentional.
- The Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch, version 4.3.0, addresses this issue. It changes the interior ebony ore veins and the exterior loose ebony ores to iron ore, with the ebony ore veins relocated to a new small cave just east of Shor's Stone.
- Otherwise, Filnjar may have some iron ore for sale for completing the quest.
- The thick red mist described by the miners living in Shor's Stone is not present; the mine is clear inside.
- The Unofficial Skyrim Patch, version 1.2.6, fixes this bug.
- There are several desiccated corpses in the mine despite Filnjar stating that nobody had been harmed by the frostbite spider infestation.
- The Unofficial Skyrim Patch, version 1.2.6, fixes this bug.
- The frostbite spiders may respawn. See the quest page for more details.
- The Unofficial Skyrim Patch, version 1.0, fixes this bug.
