Plated Plate is a heavy armor shop located in the Market District of the Imperial City. It is located on the upper level of the north wall, right next to the gate to the Prison District.
The proprietor, Klatau, has 1000 gold, a Mercantile skill of 60, and buys and sells armor. The shop is large and fairly open. A long counter to the left of the door holds a variety of armor on display - dwarven boots, an iron shield, a Legion shield and boots, ebony gauntlets, orcish boots, and a steel helmet - as well as a pair of books and a small sack of gold. A table in the middle of the floor holds an iron cuirass, two sets of iron and steel gauntlets, a pair of iron boots, and a steel helmet. A locked display case (Klatau has the key) contains a pair of daedric gauntlets. Another small table back in the corner has an iron helmet, iron boots, and an old Legion helmet. The area behind the counter is Klatau's workspace; it has a chest of armor, a couple barrels for storage, and a desk where he does his bookkeeping.
A set of stairs leads up to the private quarters, where Klatau and his wife Eylave live. It's one large room. A small table (along with two chairs) near the door serves as a dining table; a cupboard nearby holds dishes and other knickknacks. A counter along the left-hand wall has dishes, silverware, and casks of drink. Two small tables across from the door hold some of Klatau's trophies: a silver bowl with a daedra heart, some ogre teeth, a minotaur horn, and a dwarven helmet and boots. The far end of the room is their sleeping area; it has a double bed, a chest of valuables, two low dressers, and two clothes cupboards.
Another door below the stairs leads to the basement, a large space divided into smaller rooms. This space is shared with the neighboring shop, Tempered Steel. The first room is strictly storage - crates, barrels, and cupboards - along with a couple wine racks. A door leads into a second, larger space, which has a forge; this is where Klatau does his repairs and makes new armor. The crates and barrels here hold miscellaneous items as well items for his work - repair hammers, tongs, and other tools. The third part of the basement is the largest; it has yet more containers, chests of armor, a barrel of iron maces, a steel dagger, short sword, and longsword set out on a table, and a table with repair hammers. Another set of stairs goes up to Tempered Steel.
