Tyr was a Knight Brother of the Imperial Order of Blades active during the Great War.[1]

HistoryEdit

Before the WarEdit

As a Knight Brother of the Imperial Order of Blades, Tyr would've undergone the trials to become a Blademan.

In the past, Tyr had serviced the Mede Empire, and was friendly with Legate Cassia of the Imperial Legion.[1]

Tyr had become familiar with a sorceress named Laaneth.[2]

Great WarEdit

Tyr and Cassia meeting with the Emperor

During the Great War, Lord Naarifin of the Aldmeri Dominion had built a temple in southern Cyrodiil. Tyr was brought to the temple as prisoner and forced to fight in an arena by the Dremora Lord Reive, Oathkin of Boethiah and servant of Lord Naarifin.[3][4]

Tyr managed to escape the temple with the help of the Forgotten Hero, and went north to find his friend Laaneth, who was well versed in Daedric matters.[5][2] After some tribulations, including encounters with cultists of Boethiah, persuit by Dominion guards, and an uneasy alliance with a pirate named Swims-at-Night, the group managed to locate Laaneth.[6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13] They continued northwards through spider-infested woods up into Skyrim to meet up with the Emperor's forces.[14][1]

Upon reaching the Emperor, Tyr and company communicated what they learned of Lord Naarifin's plans. The band volunteered to sneak into Dominion-occupied Imperial City to find out how Naarifin was able to see into the future.[1] Together, the Forgotten Hero, Tyr, Laaneth, Swims-at-Night, and Legate Cassia, infiltrated the city by posing as gladiators and enlisting in the newly reopened Imperial Arena.[1][15] By braving the crypts beneath the city, they crawled up into White-Gold Tower.[16] There, the band snuck into Lord Naarifin's study, where they found a seeing stone called the Orb of Vaermina. The Dominion was using the Orb to track the movements of Mede's legions.[17]

Lord Naarifin and Reive came upon the group from behind, with Reive managing to put Tyr in a headlock. Naarifin then demanded that they cease and desist or he would kill their friend Tyr. The Forgotten Hero was forced to choose between taking the Orb, or saving Tyr's life and destroying it. According to one telling, the Hero took the Orb and Tyr was killed by Reive. A conflicting account states that Tyr broke free from the headlock and smashed the Orb, leaving Tyr injured but alive.[17][18] Tyr's true fate remains unknown.
