Zenurie Mondette is a Breton Noble who works as a deputy for Aetia Nemesia, the East Empire Company's Factor in Old Ebonheart.
As the deputy, Zenurie is empowered to give certain approvals on Aetia's behalf, and will do so during the events of Paper Trail. You are also recommended to seek her advice by EEC officer Quilmaro during Buying Time, as she holds a secondary role as the agency's Officer-in-Chief of Transportation. Her advice in this quest does bear some fruit, but she displays some blind spots as to how the poorer sections of society live - recommending a high-class beverage for use in the decidedly more down-to-earth Salty Futtocks inn, for example. Her attitude towards a hostage situation in Art of the Deal also displays a certain detachment from reality - she calls it "exciting", and the "stuff of bardsong".
It is possible that Zenurie's role in the company is not purely down to her aptitude. Her noble origins have seen her mix with Phedre Briricca in the Imperial City, and she seems to know this individual - the current head of Old Ebonheart's branch of the Briricca Bank, rather well. Given the Company's reliance on loans from the banks, Zenurie may be in position in part to keep the relationship smooth.
For protection, she wears a set of Orcish greaves. For clothing, she wears an extravagant shirt with matching skirt and shoes. She wields an ebony dagger and carries 418 random gold.
Aside from her natural bonus and resistance to magicka, and her ability to shield herself for short periods, she knows the following spells: Charisma, Great Resist Common Disease, Great Resist Fire, Iron Will, and Wisdom.

DialogueEdit
- Greeting:
- (If you have Eltonbrand):
- "Don't stand so close to me."
- assignment:
- "Oh, I don't have anything for you, but Quilmaro downstairs may. He's the Altmer."
- (If you are not a member of the East Empire Company):
- "Surely you'd want to join the East Empire Company before asking the East Empire Company for an assignment."
- (If you have been expelled from the East Empire Company):
- "You don't work for the East Empire Company anymore, unfortunately. Why don't you see someone about getting re-hired?"
- (If you are doing the quest 'Talking Shop'):
- close a deal:
- "The biggest deal I ever closed was back in Wayrest. A friend, the Queen, had taken the crown a few years prior, but she needed a bit of help keeping it. Long story short, I wound up with some very nice Second Era jewelry, and Elysana stayed a queen."
- (If you are doing the quest 'Art of the Deal'):
- five-thousand-drake ransom:
- "I'm excited for you, %PCName. Heading into parts unknown, negotiating with bandits! That's the stuff of bardsong."
- (If you are doing the quest 'Follow the Money'):
- "Marki's the best we have, and I don't mean this office; I mean the Company. We're all very lucky he hasn't decided to take his talents west, and between you and me, I bet the board's giving him Aetia's job in a year."
- (If you found his body):
- "This is a terrible day for the East Empire Company. Marki the Shark was the best we had, and I don't mean this building; I mean the Company. I'll have Mother write an obituary for him in the trades."
- Marki's work:
- "Hmm, yes, it's very good stuff, his work. Very good indeed. Well, %PCName, to be honest, I don't know exactly what he was doing. I just see the numbers, and they're great numbers."
- my trade:
- "I'm an Eastern noble. Er... A Western noble. East Cyrodiil, west of here. I'm from Nibenay. Right now, I'm here in Morrowind to work for the East Empire Company, but back in Cyrodiil City, my mother is a Company director, and if the Emperor allows it, I will inherit her seat on the board someday. In the meantime, I'm just here for the experience."
East Empire Company: Paper TrailEdit
- Briricca report:
- "That sounds like something Lorindil gave me the other day. She wanted me to look over it, but I just haven't found a good moment yet. If you need it back, it should be around here somewhere."
- (If you have Lorindil's Briricca Report):
- "You found it!"
- "I'm sure it'll be fine."
- (If you have Quilmaro's Briricca Report):
- "So it's done! Let me take a look..."
- [Let Zenurie have a look at the report.]:
- "This is great! Phedre's going to love it: such splendidly drawn shapes, and the colors are simply out of this world... Oh, Phedre Briricca manages the bank's local branch. We ran in the same circles back in the City. You'll find her just two doors left of us in the town square. Head over there, and take this with you. It's got the signature it needs." (Removed Quilmaro's Briricca Report from your inventory, and you receive the EEC Briricca Report)
- The factor needs to see this.:
- "If you insist."
- "Phedre'll want to see that."
- "Phedre likes to play coy, but I'm sure she'll renew that loan. The Bririccas are already major shareholders of the East Empire Company, so in a way, they're just lending to themselves. Did you want another assignment?"
East Empire Company: Buying TimeEdit
- Greeting:
- "You mentioned shipping delays?"
- "He's a publican? The same client who ordered all that jewelry also ordered a crate of whiskey. I guess she was planning a party. Then, well, she died. Knife in the heart. No one knows who did it. I wouldn't mention that part to Jodald. But he might like the flin! Tell him you have a crate worth 200 drakes. That should make up for the llotham."
- "Jerky? Really? I'm sorry, %PCRank, but I don't know if I agree. This is just my impression, but this Jodald character sounds more like a whiskey type. Just my impression. I'm more of a brandy lady myself. Have been ever since Gwylim."
- shipping delays:
- "I know what you're talking about! In addition to being the factor's deputy, I am also this agency's officer-in-chief of transportation. A big part of my job is keeping tabs on the ships. That means if you need help breaking the news to these merchants, smoothing over some hard feelings, I know about some excess goods coming in that we can give away at a discount. Let's see: Yaguz gro-Dhaluk the clothier, Wayrian Eulorius the enchanter, and Jodald the publican. How can we help them?"
- Wayrian Eulorius:
- "I know nothing about magic. Sorry."
- Yaguz gro-Dhaluk:
- "As it happens, a client just canceled an order of Cyrodilic jewelry, but the ship's already on its way from Winterhold, and I've no idea what I'll tell the captain. Or the shareholders... The shipment's worth 800 drakes. Maybe instead of giving Yaguz gold, you could ask if he'd like to take the jewelry off our hands? It'd help everyone out."
NotesEdit
- Zenurie Mondette's name is a reference to the Police's 1980 album Zenyatta Mondatta. Her Eltonbrand Easter egg greeting is a reference to "Don't Stand So Close to Me", the album's lead single.
- Zenurie's surroundings indicate she is not very focused on her job. Appropriately for one tasked with keeping tabs on the Company's ships, books listing Company ships and shipping routes clutter her desk. However, the book in front of her is actually a Red Book of Riddles, a favorite pastime reading of the Western nobility. Similarly, the registries, ledgers, and logs on Zenurie's bookshelf have been pushed aside to make room for things of leisure such as a horoscope, books of noble tricks and light fiction, a hairbrush, and even a master's mortar and pestle for mixing makeup.
- Like her friend Phedre Briricca, Zenurie wears Orcish greaves under her skirt. Per the Elderscrolls.com Codex, "orcish armor commands premium prices from campaigning mercenary officers and style-conscious nobles."
